I upgraded to pretty much everything I could from the grimmspeed catalog for my 02 WRX. I had some initial issues with a boost leak after I installed it (this was cured by installing grimmspeed gaskets), so I have taken some time to see what it's like after fixing the issue. Quite frankly, it's a whole new car.
Full boost hits, and I mean hits even though I still have the td04, right
around 2800 rpms and pulls hard. I can actually pass people in fifth gear!
Throttle response has improved greatly, the car is just taunt all the time,
ready to go at just a nudge of the gas peddle.
The car is deceptively fast, it spools so much quicker, throttle response has
improved greatly, and the power band is incredibly smooth (however, I am
sure having a tune helped the smoothness as well, but it still points as to how well the parts work together).
Parts, all pnp and ceramic coated, all exhaust is heat wrapped:
Grimmspeed:
throttle body
Intake manifold
phenolic spacers
tgv deletes
exhaust manifold with high flow center pipe
ewg uppipe (running 38mm Tial)
Grimmspeed has also helped greatly, the customer service is bar none.
They answered numerous questions and even helped diagnose an exhaust
leak (my fault, I'm an idiot and heat wrapped the egt bung, whoops).
All in all, very impressed with the products as well as the company. |
