Adding a properly designed, thoroughly tested up-pipe is one of the most effective early mods you can make to your Subaru. At GrimmSpeed, our goal was to create a 2-bolt up-pipe that checks every box: precise fitment, long-term durability, strong performance gains — all while meeting modern emissions standards. The result is a SEMA Certified component engineered to deliver on all fronts.
DESIGN:
This up-pipe was developed entirely in-house using our FARO Arm and advanced SolidWorks CAD software, giving us complete control over every detail — from material selection to final fitment. The result is an OEM-header-compatible up-pipe with dead-on accuracy, thanks to ½" CNC-milled stainless-steel flanges and reverse-engineered tolerances based on real-world data.
Each unit is packaged with a set of our proven GrimmSpeed Fire Ring multi-layer steel gaskets and corrosion-resistant zinc-coated hardware — no extra parts or trips to the parts store required. Everything you need is in the box.
We offer the pipe in two finish options to suit your build style: raw stainless steel or our black ceramic thermal coating. The thermal-coated version adds an extra layer of heat control, reducing engine bay temperatures and helping prevent heat soak — all with a cleaner visual footprint under the hood.
MATERIALS:
Only the best local raw materials are used in every GrimmSpeed 2-bolt Up-Pipe.
The flex joint is constructed from 321 Stainless Steel with an interlocking liner for durability, and the tubing itself is made from heavy-duty 14-Gauge 304 Stainless Steel — 33% thicker than most competitors' offerings. Each pipe is CNC mandrel bent for precise, smooth flow, and our ½" thick 304 Stainless Steel flanges are CNC-milled for tight tolerances. For superior strength, each pipe is hand-welded both inside and outside of the flange, ensuring a strong, smooth mating surface for optimal airflow. All fabrication is performed by our Certified Welders/Fabricators, meaning every single up-pipe that leaves our facility is built to handle serious abuse.
PERFORMANCE:
Flow and Boost Response:
You can expect spool times to improve by approximately 300-400 RPM, helping your turbo reach full boost faster and more efficiently. Reducing turbo lag significantly improves overall driving response and power delivery, especially in performance and track applications.
