The GrimmSpeed Turbocharger Program started by recognizing a need in the market for a robust, quick-spooling and high-performing turbo. Design began from the ground up and took over 3 years of hard work, testing and development to introduce a product that we're proud to have carry The GrimmSpeed Name. The focus of this project was to offer a stock location OE replacement turbo, which when paired with GrimmSpeed supporting mods, allows enthusiasts to take full advantage of their EJ series turbo engine.
Both of our new turbocharger options feature state of the art proprietary compressors, turbines, CHRA's and wheel designs which maximize the power made on your EJ engine at two different price points. The overall design went through tedious gas flow test analysis, strenuous failure testing and engine pounding dyno/road testing, all to create the new standard for EJ engines: The GrimmSpeed JB400 and BB500 Turbochargers!

"Easy straightforward install with no fitment issues as mentioned in other reviews. Made 431whp and 400 torque on 93 on my 21 sti. Quick spooling and pulls to redline. Very smooth power delivery. Highly recommended when compared to a blouch 2. 5xtr"
"I'm not sure what happened on these other reviews. I personally installed my BB500, using a ETS top mount intercooler. I had no issues with the BB500 installed in the factory location. I deviated from the Grimm speed install video a little. I removed the factory oil feed line from the back of my PS head (the one the instructions say to bend a bit) and used the banjo fitting supplied with the BB500. Just had to make sure the banjo fitting was flush against the head as a couple of head features could prevent a good seat if oriented wrong. I also had to do a little grinding with one of the up-pipe support brackets (wouldn't have been necessary if I had left the factory head fitting). On 93 Octane Pump gas and supporting mods (including IAG550 long block), I got 377HP at the wheels. I've only had the car back from tuning for a week, but so far very happy."
"I give it one star. It's almost impossible to fit. I had to grind to housing down just to get the tap to go on to the stud. I emailed grimmspeed sent the pictures where i had to modify their product and they firsted seemed concerned until I suggested milling the housing just a little more so it would fit, and they emailed me back with a long list of tools ( Everything but a socket) that I could use. "Make it user friendly!! " and all they need to do is mill a small part of the housing."
"Nice turbo, haven't used it yet, still in the building process. Never realized it didn't fit with the top mount intercooler. luckily i have a front mount intercooler i can use. I thought it was a factory replacement. My fault, i should have read more into it."
